Proceeds from Hannaford Community Challenge presented by Kraft Foods to benefit local charities
PORTLAND, ME, March 1, 2012 -Tickets to the first professional golf tournament held in Maine to feature former LPGA Tour stars are on sale now at TheLegendsTour.com. The Hannaford Community Challenge presented by Kraft Foods will be hosted by Falmouth Country Club on June 21-24, 2012 and showcase a field of 40 Legends Tour players competing for a $200,000 purse. All ticket proceeds benefit local charities.
“People who attend the Hannaford Community Challenge will see some of the world’s best female golfers compete and also contribute to local organizations through their ticket purchases,” said Eric Blom, Hannaford spokesman. “Hannaford Supermarkets is proud to create this exciting and unique professional sporting event in Maine.”
Charities benefitting from tournament ticket sales include The Good Shepherd Food Bank, The First Tee of Maine, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Fans may select the charity they wish to support with their online ticket purchases. Tickets also will be available for purchase through charitable organizations.
Beneficiaries will be presented with checks from tournament proceeds at a celebration dinner to be held Saturday evening, June 23, between rounds.
