Host a Class

Cooking Matters

Host a Cooking Matters Class at Your Organization

Follow these guidelines to determine if your agency is eligible to host a Cooking Matters course:

Does your organization:

  • Serve families and/or individuals at risk of hunger who are able to cook at home or are working towards self-sufficiency?
  • Have space (or access to space) for 12 – 15 participants to take part in a 6-week cooking and nutrition course?
  • Have a staff person who is able to recruit participants and make weekly reminder phone calls for class?
  • Have a staff person who is able to be present at the 6-week class?

If you answered yes to the above questions, then you are qualified to host a Cooking Matters Class!

Interested in hosting a Cooking Matters class? Good Shepherd Food Bank, in collaboration with Maine SNAP-Ed, will provide the materials, groceries, instructors and a class coordinator.  You provide the meeting space (including a kitchen facility) and recruit the participants.
