Michelle Cross, Donor Advisor, is pleased to work with Good Shepherd Food Bank’s mid-level donors, inspired by their motivation to support the amazing work and mission of the Food Bank. Michelle joined the team in September 2024, first working in Development Operations at the Food Bank for several months.

Working with nonprofits since the beginning of her career, Michelle has discovered numerous unique and rewarding opportunities along the way. This included several years in social work, where she helped place children in their forever homes, as well as teaching middle school at a small private school. She most recently worked at Bridgton Academy, first as an assistant librarian and then in their Institutional Advancement Office, completing a 17-year tenure there. Throughout the journey, whether it be working with a donor, organizing an event, or witnessing a student grasp something new for the first time, it’s always been about fostering relationships.

Michelle is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine, receiving her B.A. in English. An Ohio native, she has lived in Maine with her husband Mark for over 30 years. Among her favorite things are spending quality time with her family, which includes traveling to visit their adult children who live in the South; projects around the house and yard; the great Maine outdoors; reading a good book; and a steaming cup of coffee with a cozy quilt.
