Court Referred Volunteers

Good Shepherd Food Bank’s Court Referred Volunteer Policy

Individuals who reside in the state of Maine and have received a court order to perform community service will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If you’d like to work toward your hours at Good Shepherd Food Bank, we will be happy to review your request. We respect your personal information and maintain confidentiality with all our volunteers.

We do not accept volunteers whose charge relates to:

  • Violent crime
  • Crime involving a minor
  • Crime of a sexual nature
  • Theft

All court referred volunteers must be approved to have their hours confirmed by Good Shepherd Food Bank.

We cannot guarantee enough volunteer shifts available to fulfill your total hours required.

We reserve the right to decline any volunteer or to limit which days or hours a volunteer can work.

Approved volunteers will be expected to follow all guidelines as outlined in our Volunteer Handbook.
