“We’re proud to once again sponsor the Summer Food Service Program in Bangor and Brewer,” says Heather Paquette, president of Good Shepherd Food Bank. “Maine currently has the highest rate of child food insecurity in New England, with 1 in 5 children—20.6 percent—facing hunger. With our partners in the region and USDA, we’re working to close that gap and ensure more children in the Bangor area have access to the nutritious food they need during the summer months.”

Meals are provided to all children under age 18 without charge.
