
Auburn, Maine – Good Shepherd Food Bank is pleased to announce Camilo Echanique as the organization’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He started his role on January 5, 2026.
“After an extensive search, we are excited to welcome Camilo Echanique to the Food Bank team in this important leadership position,” said Heather Paquette, Good Shepherd Food Bank president. “In addition to his strategic expertise, Camilo brings a proven ability to lead through change, a focus on learning and collaboration, and a passion for talent development that make him an excellent fit for the Food Bank.”
A Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, Camilo brings nearly two decades of experience in leadership, financial management, and strategy. Prior to joining the Food Bank, Camilo held multiple Vice President of Finance positions at Unum Group and most recently oversaw the finance and actuarial functions for a key business segment.

In addition to his professional experience, Camilo is an active member of the community, serving as Board Vice Chair for LearningWorks, a Maine-based nonprofit focused on education and community support, and coaching youth sports. Born in Guayaquil Ecuador, Camilo relocated to New England as a child and attended the University of Connecticut where he received his Bachelor of the Arts in Mathematics and Economics. He lives in Yarmouth with his wife Emily, their two sons, and Spruce the family dog.
